I usually find the car isolated and that is parked the furthest away thinking they have a "badass" car and I park right next to them.

Far and away

Aggravating.

To be honest, my wife and I fight all the time about the fact I wont park near the door. hilarious

They do it likely because they know it will tick us off.
I drop my wife at the door ... after many years of marriage she has given up trying to change this routine. :D

You mean like parking their pickup truck so close that you actually have to drop the top of the car in order to be able to get into the car, even though you parked in the end spot on the right side so no one would open their car door into yours? Enough times that I think they do it on purpose.

Ok, so this is universal, I thought it was only ME to find my car surrounded by other cars, even though the parking lot is half empty. My passengers always think I disalusional . . .

Thanks god I find a thread about this with so many people agreeing !!! My girlfriends always think I'm crazy because I park far away from everyone, next to the striped area, & do everything possible for people to stay away, & everytime I get back there's dings, scratches, etc. & some old rusted Dodge Neon or AstroVan 3 inches away from me & I'm like WTF! But ya, people do it on purpose. Lately I've been parking normal & up front, & I come back & other cars are parked pretty distant from me, etc. I think it's like if they see a nice car parked normal, they respect it. But if they see a nice car faaar away trying to isolate itself, they purposely want to bug you.

It doesn't matter how far away I park, when I come out there is always someone next to me. My car is like a bug zapper.

Usually the far end of the parking lot and when we go anywhere with a valet I usually throw them a few dollars when I get there to keep it in a safe spot.. I could not live with a door ding in that car...

if possible besides a fellow Porsche / respectable car
otherwise on the other end of the parking lot!

Screamin911 03-13-2009 11:07 PM

ha I still park at the end of the lot but there are always those old beat up cars that happen to find a spot next to me!

911h20 03-14-2009 08:57 AM

as far away as possible and also and end spot you reduce you chances by 50% for a door ding

OmahaGT 03-14-2009 01:02 PM

I was parked alone in the very back of a pay lot. The GT3 still got keyed :(
