Which one. 2001 996TT or 03 C4S
TT: "Haven't seen it"
C4S: "Porsche CPO"
Those are the 2 biggest factors for me. In the begining through the purchase the cars prices may be comparable, but over time; "haven't seen it" might cost more money than "Porsche CPO". BUT, obviously a TT is a more superior automobile. Just my 2 cents.

True the TT is the faster car. Without question. But how do you plan to use the car? If youre primarily daily driving / street driving in traffic - will you be able to enjoy / utilize the extra power? I have a 2002 C4S and I barely have room enough to squeeze the gas on my way to and from work.
I think the CPO, plus near mint condition of the lower mileage c4S, options on the car, turbo body and brakes, and sport suspension - makes the C4S pretty compelling.

I'm with you Malakas (love the color of your 996 btw).
To be honest though, we have very limited info to go by on thees two cars.
How can one make a clear choice with such little info. How hard was the TT driven? Maintenance? Mint in and out as well?
Need lots more info and closer look to say much more
At first glance I'll stick w/the C4S.

My friend, the TT acceleration can be utilised at every traffic light, and believe me, it is VERY VERY ADDICTIVE. You can never have too much power
. C4S is a great car, BUT the TT is just at a completely different in terms of its performance level with daily usage not a problem. And if you enjoy modifying, it never ends with the TT...
A well maintained/documented high mileage car is well and truly as good as a no mileage car that has not been maintained. What needs to be done is more research to identify the history of the TT to be truly comparable.

If you plan on doing a lot of modding the TT is going to run you a lot more than modding a C4S. Not that it's a bad thing. A little impartial to the C4S myself. Let us know what you decided on. I think the best part of looking for a Porsche is the time one spends doing their homework on it!
Here is the deal.
I looked at the 2001 996 Turbo. I like it. Probably the most enjoyable drive of any porsche I've test driven. I was in 2nd gear for about 6-7 miles and no pop-out. Never took it passed 3rd.
A few problems. Front skirt has some rashes at the base of the lip/rubber.
I'd probably inflict the same on my driveway. Car has a lot of swirl marks which may or may not be remedied through detailing. I may have to repaint bumper/hood.
Now to the bad part. The car is being sold through consignment. The dealer isn't making anything. He is doing it for a friend and he's being a dick.
They want me to do it private party which is fine with me. They told me the service is up to date. I called the dealership and there is a big gap in service from
4,000 miles to 50,000 miles. The dealership can do a PPI. I told them I wanted a PPI and have the seller cover the 60K service and it went kind of sour after that. He told me he car had it's service and I told him that an oil change doesn't cut it for a major service.
They told me it had an extended warranty which is going to be ending soon.
He said, I had to finish the deal within the next 2 days because he is going out of town. I said, "fine, I'm also leaving for the 4th, so lets conclude this after we both get back." That was when he started acting like a jerk.
That said, I think I'm going to get a turbo. Maybe not this one, but if I can going to spend around 50K, I should just get an newer '02 with lesser miles via private party.

If this guy is being a jerk and you aren't crazy about the car then walk. With the market the way it is right now there are plenty of great deals to be had on Turbos. Wait until you find one you love being sold by someone who doesn't rub you the wrong way.

tough choice. I really like the side air cooling scoops of the turbo, big time, but not enough to favor it as a daily driver over the C4S. Just another point of view. Hey, you can't go wrong either way can you?
There are a lot of low mileage, well maintained Turbo's out there. It may take you 3-4 months to find one, so take you time. You won't be disappointed.
