I aksed this question either here, Rennlist, or Renntech last year (don't remember which) and didn't get any responses. The previous owner installed PSS9's and had them set on the softest setting. I'd like to adjust, but have no idea how I am supposed to get to the top of the shock tower in the rear of the car. It's covered by the BOSE sub enlosure. Do I have to perform some kind of surgery to get the adjustment dial?

 

1) remove square surround with Bose lettering. just pull them off.
2) use 5mm Allen tool to remove the bolts. 1 on each side below each speaker.
3) pull entire speaker box towards you. Not all the way yet.
4) lift up, and on the underside is the connectors for the speakers. no tools needed, just un-plug.
5) remove entire unit.
6) if you still don't see the shock mounts, there will be a bit of carpet in that spot. just use a screw driver and wiggile it out.

Just about to chime in when I saw Chasen1211's reply.

I just did this for the first time yesterday, and it's just like he described. (There was a big bolt just under each speaker horn after removing the cover. Mine were Torx, however. (#30 if I remember correctly. (Perhaps allen works anyway.) After sliding out the speakers, you will see rectangular cuts in the carpet. Mine just lifted up with my fingers, then a little insulation, then the adjustment ****!

It was easier than I thought. Actually, I was after a squeek under the subwoofer. I put some electrical tape all around the two metal rails you will see when you slide out the Bose. Fixed one squeek, anyway!
