Looking for a nice 996, anyone know this car?

Hi guys,

this seems to be a great forum with lots of knowlegeable people, so here goes.
Iīve been looking for a nice 996 for some time now and since $ is quite good for us in the Europe, I decided to take a look at the US market. I must say - you guys have a lot of cars to choose from

Anyways, does anyone recognize this car?

It looks quite good and the price isn't bad at all. There's a light mark on the rear fender, but I can handle that.
All help will be greatly appreciated!

Thanks!

Here is the correct link http://www.cars.com/go/search/detail.jsp;?tracktype=usedcc&searchType=21&pageNum ber=4&numResultsPerPage=50&largeNumResultsPerPage= 0&sortorder=ascending&sortfield=PRICE+ascending%2c PRICE+descending&certifiedOnly=false&criteria=K-|E-|M-_41_|D-_386_|N-N|R-10000|I-1|P-PRICE+ascending%2cPRICE+descending|Q-ascending|Z-10001&aff=national&paId=136225339&recnum=214&leadE xists=true

I have to say.....OMG! something has to be hidden with this car or the market is REALLY sliding fast. That car looks very clean, has a ton of upgrades and is at an insane price. A solid PPI and title search should be done. Given it is in FL it might be a flood car from katrina.

Buyer beware, This car has been for sale for quite some time, originaly listed for 34K last year at Sports Trend, for one, the seats look rough and recently read a review by another forum member who bought a 02 or 03 C2 from that dealer and it ended up having a warranty sold with it that was from a company who went out of business a short while later. He also had severe problems from the get go with improper alignment and later found out the car had extensive accident damage and a twisted body was the reason the car could not be properly aligned. He also did'nt have a PPI done before purchasing, this may have prevented him rom buying the car.

Do a search for that dealer name on this thread and read the whole review, then make an educated decission, if you even want to pursue this car, you know what they say, you get what you pay for, if it seems too good to be true, than it probably is. All the really good deals I have gone to look at were a let down, hidden issues or not as described. Now I rather look at cars in the mid to upper end of the price range and try to negotiate a fair price.

Good Luck! David

Can't see the link, but if it is a yellow C2 Cab then it has been there for a long time. I did test drive the car on city street and the 101 freeway at up to 120 mph, car need alignment. Interior is fair for a cab. I do know the owner of Sport Trend. A good friend of mine from Pcars bought a 996TT last year. So far, no problem.

When you want to buy a car, any cars without up close inspection it's not wise to do so. You need to drive the car and look at its condition. Every prospect buyer either he or she needs to evaluate condition, history, and pricing.

I would just find a good local Porsche dealer for an honest PPI, talk to the service guys about condition and let it roll! Even if you need to replace some interior trim or a coolant tank, the price is great

Give me your email address and I'll send you the AUTOCHECK Report. This one has (6)-past owners, an auction car & was also repossessed.

Oh well... Six past owners and a repo - it definitely doesn't sound good. A PPI is a must anyways, of course. I wouldn't buy a 911 without it
I'll wait for the autocheck report from etwd and we'll see how this turns out. I must say that the this car looks very tempting and I fell in love with the looks of it. BUT... six owners + repo, not good..

There are several other cab's with similar mileage in FL area, so could it be that prices are really sliding this fast?? It seems to be very tempting to buy from the US, because similar 911's in Finland cost about 80000 - 90000 $. No, thatīs not a typo! Taxation is rediculous up here... Of course I'll end up paying insane taxes if I import this car. Taxes will be around 30000 $. Yup, insane!

DAYTRADER: how did the car feel overall? You mentioned alignment problems, but was the vibrations or something else? Thanks in advance!

i wouldn't go near that car. It's worth it to spend extra money for some peace of mind.
