someone actually advising another to avoid deep dish cuz of brake dust/cleaning? where do you creatures come from, seriously?

booch, stick with the known brands. i can already tell you're kinda being hit on by price since those wheels you posted are... bargain basement wheels.

HRE, Work, Fikse, DPE (nice value wheels), OZ, etc. Mesh is always classic and the only way to fly in my book on 911s or any sports car for that matter due to its popularity in motorsport.

personally, if i sold my wheels now, i'd pick upa set of HRE P90s... DEEP DISH beoooootch.

i almost got the RG5s except they don't offer 19x12s for 996 widebodies which took them off the list for me.

+1

It seems like every year, a new wheel company comes out, and come the following year, they're gone.

I'm sure Fiske can conjure up some 19x12's for ya. Don't they still make them to order?

i tried to convince them pls believe. none of these guys are a true custom shop, but fikse comes closest to it. HRE sources the same rim pieces as any of the other shops.

i wouldn't doubt that fikse/champion sources all their one piece wheels from the same factory in japan and just design the centers themselves with diff finishes. just that fikse did it up right with the classic mesh Y BBS style centers that i absolutely adore.

the only real R&D happens with the big brands cuz they have the big budgets like bbs and oz. whens the last time you saw HRE or Fikse sponsoring F1 or the IRL etc? seriously, it's all brand marketing hype which is fine for street usage.

11s are the widest they offer today

and the funny crap that goes on in internet forums is that.... "yea it's forged" means somehow that it's great. when in fact, forging is just one part of the big picture in making a wheel a good wheel.

ahhhhhh car forums... hate it or love it

Very true again. A lot of these fly by night companies use the term "forged" as their sales point; and unfortunately, consumers are mis-lead by that.

Bottom line, stick with the reputable companies.

Just something I notice on my last set of deep dish wheels. Got tired of cleaning it and after a while the dust left small pits on the finish. OH I'm sorry, I forgot some of us on here does not drive their car enough to have that little problem.

Yeah, everyone on here uses their cars differently, so a universal answer is useless. Some need lightweight race wheels, some use the car once a month and like 20 inch flash wheels, some use it daily and want replacable 18s. And everyone likes to look at something different. SO, its up to you big boy!
