I have considered doing a car similar to this. Be prepared to invest a lot of time and $$$ to complete it the way you want it. If you want a semi one off car go for it.....the issue is resale and what it would actually be worth.
I did the pros and cons and decided either a 997 TT, GT3/RS or a Ferrari would be a better choice for me unless my wallet could afford a CGT, Enzo or Saleen..
