Unhappy another window thread

Been trying to research this on 6speed and Renn; however so many people call it different things the search is taking forever..Hoping you guys can help.

My challenge is that when I use the door handle, the window goes down... but pops back up as soon as the handle (inside or outside is released). It appears the car does not recognize that the door is still open. (door bell stops and door light turns off when not holding the handle).

Is this called "door latch micro switch?"... is there a manual way to reset this without purchasing a new one and pulling apart the door?

Car is 2000 C2 Coupe.

Thanks!

go to Renntech.org and ask Loren- It might be the switch on the door latch.
Renntech / Loren is your best bet, short of going to the $tealer.

I think there are two switches involved. The one in the door handles cuase the window to drop when some touches them, but its the door-closed switch (the one that operates the interior lights) that tells the windors to go back up. Check to see if your dome lights are working correctly. My guess is that's where you will find the fault.

I sucessfully reset mine. I have a cab so it might be different. reset by holding switch all the down and all the way up for 5-10 sec after both opening and closing.

good luck
Doug

And I'll add that the dealer, under warranty, replaced my door lock switch/sensor to fix the problem.
