Newbie, how reliable is the 02-03 996?

996 issues

I have to back exactly what C70Pete says on these. From what I have seen if an engine is not leaking after a good break-in mileage, then it probably will be a non issue. 2002 is a much better version than the earlier models in general, but all else equal an '03, '04, and '05 just get better. In a similar price range, I would give clean 993's a good look too. Wonderful cars and a good investment.

I have an 02 that I bought new. I've had zero problems outside popping out of 2nd. Trans replaced at 4K miles. 20K miles now, no problems.

ps. I've had a 00 and an 02, no RMS, leaks, etc.
