dealer

Just go to the Porsche dealer and have a diagnostic run on the car. The cost will be minimal if any. You can come back to this thread and post what they said was wrong.

Dont go fixing stuff on your car based on opinions online (there is alot of good advice here) you may just make it worse or harder to figure out.

Get it in before it stops running.

that's the odd thing. Other than the idle, the car runs fine!

idle

On my NSX it had problems idling when cold. It had a idle control module on it. Once that was replaced everything was fine. I would assume (but dont know for sure) that a Porsche may have a similar part.

Take this to car to the dealer quickly. It might just be a collapsed lifter but with the 3.4 engine - from the research I have done - the ratio of lifter issues to overall failure is about 1:14

Let us know what happens
