Carrera 4 insignia in black
Carrera 4 insignia in black
I have an Arctic silver 2002 C4 Cab. The logo on the engine lid is also silver, which all but disappears into the silver paint. So I bought a black "Carrera"--but the "4" is not available in black. Has anyone else solved this problem?
I purchased a silver "4" with the idea of painting it to match, but I'm unsure of what paint to use to get a good match. Any ideas?

Purchased a black "911" emblem from Bumper Plugs to replace the silver Carrera 4 emblem on my 2002 Bassalt Black C4 Cab. Looks much better to have a simple "911" as compared to the Carrera 4. Clean and simple but elegant!
I used goo gone and fishing line. The old emblem comes off fairly easily. However, removing all of the adhesive requires a great deal of elbow grease and patience.
Depending on the age and color of your car, you may have a faint outline of the old emblem even after you have removed all of the adhesive. Mine's bassalt black and if you did not know that the old Carrera 4 emblem was there, you could not tell. The new 911 emblem goes on easily and looks much classier in my opinion.
Good luck.
To remove the adhesive: try 3M General Purpose Adhesive Cleaner in an airesol can. It works great to remove the adhesive left behind from wheel weights--should work equally well on the insignia residue.
