Joel, I'm glad it worked, that is awesome!

And we did only have one 3.6 take-off intake here, but we'll probably get another one sooner or later.

Has anyone tried installing a 997 x51 box yet? I am tempted to give it a try. From the looks of it the main problem appears to be the location of the pump.

Steve has a relocation kit for the pump. It moves the pump close to the fender. After doing mine with the regular airbox, I would think is possible. You only have to find a way to attach the hose to the smaller TB. The MAF cable is long enough unless you want/need more slack. My only concern would be the oil filler tube, which can sit above the carbon intake without the extension. They have a return policy in case it doesn't work...
Want to be the first one??? LOL!!!!

The X51 box is carbon and has duel snorkles correct? I saw it on a car at NASA Nationals a few weeks back integrated with the MKI GT3 wing but didn't have a chance to ask more questions.

Yes, a friend of mine had it installed in his 997S. When we put the two cars side by side. The only real problem appeared to be the location of the pump on the left side of the engine. Not sure if the bracket that relocates the pump will move it far enough inboard to allow it to fit. The only other issue was the fact that the trunk lid where the second cutout needs to be placed is not flat. This did not appear to be a big issue but will need some investigation. I have a Carrera rear spoiler so my trunk lid is a little different than stock.

The bracket moves the pump as far as possible. If that doesn't work, you can get the bracket and move the mounting points even further to the left... I will love to being able to fit that intake there!

I am going to take another look at my friends X51 airbox. There are tubes made that will step down to the smaller throttle body. If it all looks good I may just take the leap. Would love to here some first hand experience with this mod.

We test fitted the X51 airbox in a 996 before and it fit just fine with that smog pump relocation bracket and the throttle body adapter.
