Ok, so i have read about how easy it can be to lose control of a 911 when pushing it hard, esp. for someone who does not have driving school training.

Last night i was taking a right turn pretty fast & i felt the car was starting to slide to the left, so i turned the wheel to the left to counter steer, and next thing I know the entire rear end came around & I did a 180 on a public road. Luckily I didnt hit anything or anyone... it was scary though, and unexpected. My car does not have PASM.

I have PSS9 coilovers with the rear set up to be softer than the front, is this a problem? The guy who installed the set told me the rear should be set softer than the front so that the rear will be less likely to come around?

the rear end of porsche tends "to feel" like its going to kick out before it actually hit its limit. correcting in middle of the turn often upsets the balance.

You should slow down just a little bit. Spinning out on the street is way too dangerous. Glad you are ok.

I've spun a few times on the track, pretty easy to do if you get the corner wrong, but, you're tuner has it backwards. Stiffer rear and softer front.

thats crazy, i nearly came off an off ramp onto i95 once, the ground looked dry but it was soaked apparently, the wheel was turned to the right but the car kept heading straight, floored the car and hit the ebrake and corrected it in time.

The mechanic that told you this and set up the car is exactly wrong! The rears have to be stiffened and the front to be softened to correct the car's inherent understeer or push. if you were dealing with a normal front engine RWD car with oversteer problems then that would have been the correct thing to do. Your car should have pushed really hard and as you over-corrected the understeer, Houston you've got problems. Sway bars also help keep you flatter.

This article has pretty good data points and explanations

When you put the engine in the back spinning happens. But I strongly endorse learning the limits of the car at an autox is good for panic situations. Once you done a few of those and get sick of waiting around do a few lapping days and then you will never look back.
