Hey guys my suspension is out on my 02 C2. Anyone out there selling coilovers or have any suggestions or recommendations for a new suspension kit?

What are you looking for: street only, track only, compromise of both, or other?

Actually looking for an upgrade that is street drivable but will show up on the track. I'm not on the track once a week or even once a month, more like twice a year. But I do like to drive aggressive from time to time on street or highway.

 

Factory:
The first factory option is the Porsche ROW M030 suspension. IMO, this is the biggest bang for the buck. It is about $1000 in a complete package from Suncoast (shocks, springs, sway bars and bushings). All factory mounting and fairly easy to install. This setup is nice on the street, and great for only a few track days a year. [You *could* get the US M030 suspension, but you don't get lowered ride height. There might be other differences as well.]

The next factory option would be a factory X74. A bit more agressive and track-able. Substantially more expensive. I don't have pricing, but it seemed to be in the 3K range.

IIRC, neither of these factory options have adjustable anything.

With aftermarket suspensions, you have many more options in different price ranges. Right now, the popular consensus is the PSS9/PSS10 is the way to go. These have one way adjustable shocks which allow some freedom. With this option you will probably need new sway bars to get a the full benefit of the suspension bits. With the full package you will have a track worthy animal. Cost for the suspension is around $2,000 + install. Sway bars around $500 +/-. In this arena, the major players are KW-Variant, Bilstein and H&R.

If you continued up the scale (in performance AND cost) you could get multi-way adjustable shocks with remote reservoirs and fully adjustable sway bars, drop links, etc.etc. But I don't think this is where you want to go considering the 4-5K entry point and ~10K high-end prices! Consider JRZ, JIC, Moton, Ohlin, Protrac, and Sachs if you have money burning a hole in your pocket.

So you prefer the JIC over the Bilstien? Why?

 

JIC Cross is a much better coilover compared to the Bilstein for those wanting a more aggressive setup. Bilstein uses the stock rubber strut tops. JIC includes front aluminum camber plates and rear pillowball mounts. These give you more responsive steering with the solid mount and adjustment of up to 3 degrees of negative camber in the front for track use. The Bilstein is 9 way adjustable dampening, JIC is 16 way. This allows you to more precisely dial in the suspension to your driving needs, street, tire choice, etc. JIC uses a monotube damper which is much more faster reacting and durable then the Bilstein twin tube.

That is why...

 

for the reason described above...that is why, at that price point it is a great setup.
