warranty? Heat?
warranty? Heat?
It's me agian with some questions, sorry if I bug some guys in here but i am new on the P scene. Two questions:
1) For those who go to the track, is it true that the dealer will void the warranty if the car is taken to the track??
2) My car temperature after riding is normal according to the dashboard, however if I go walking around the engine I can feel the car pretty hot in fact when i get home I have to leave the car either outside the garage or leave the garage door open for a while so it cools down. Is this normal?

tracking will not void your warranty. racing COULD void your warranty if the dealer could prove you were racing the car. but for DE events, they won't void your warranty!
as for the heat, these cars put off a lot of it. so do most cars. as long as the dash temp gauge is ok, then you're fine.

Normal temperature in Centrigrade
My vehicle is still in the break-in period (1,600 kms.) and I dont drive it hard (I dont think I ever will, I just love it so much!).
I noticed the engine temp is normally just shy of 80C mark. Yesterday after a nice 30 min. drive as I was getting ready to switch the vehicle off, I noticed the temp. was higher than 80C (seemed 1/4 of the way between the 80C and 120C mark) i.e. probably at 90C.
Is this ok?
I dont drive it hard, no more than 4,000 rpm, if at all and if so, only for a few seconds.
Tell me this is normal and I am just being paranoid about the overheating.
Wait, actually, tell me the truth about normal temps. should be and whats the maximum permissible before I can take the car in for inspection.
Thanks

Should have posted in Cayenne forum but I guess the question is basic and applies to all vehicles

It depends on your dealer. My dealer knows that I do DE's and they're happy to service my car and honor all warranty work.
The heat is normal, remember that the engine & exhaust are all in the same section of the car in this case. In your area of the country, I'd get the 3rd radiator installed if you don't already have it and you'll never have a problem. It's the stop & go driving with the a/c on in the summer time that'll really heat things up.

He's talking about a Cayenne.
Check out coolant level if you are concerned about over heating. If you sit in traffic a lot, your temp will go up. You can mix more distilled water into the cooling system for better cooling but don't go over 70% water or else your radiator will develop rust prematurely and water pump won't get enough lubrication from the antifreeze. If you're not leaking coolant and your temp is normal according to your gauge, you're probly ok. If your temp goes up in traffic a lot, your fans should kick in. If not, a fan replay probly failed. If your thermostat fails, it's uaually stock in open position so your car stays cool longer during cold start.
