What are first signs of clutch wearing out?
I met up with a guy from our local Porsche forum today. The idea was to drive each others identical Porsches to discuss about the differences. Soon after a couple of accelerations I noticed that his car charges forward significantly quckier than mine when shifting form the 1st gear to second. It was pretty easy to hear the rear tires squeak when releasing the clutch. His car just had RMS fixed and while they were at it he had the clutch redone too. (by the way, his car had over 110 tmiles, worked perfectly, no major issues exept RMS once).
When driving back from the meeting I tried the same with my own car and realised my clutch must be slipping. The power transmits to rear wheels much too softly. Absolutely no feeling of getting kicked on the back when shifting to second gear with high revs.
Is it the clutch or can it be something else? In normal driving my clutch is fine, a bit stiffer than my friends though.
My car is 1999 Carrera 2 manual, 50 tmiles.

Often times the pedal getting stiffer can be a sign of a clutch starting to go. If you think it is slipping, try going out on the highway at 50 or 60 in 4th or 5th gear and give it full throttle. If the revs go up and you are not accelerating it is slipping. This is how I first noticed the slippage in mine. Ultimately the speed would catch up with the revs, but then it got much worse pretty quickly.
