Rear Bumberett Removal: Best Way To Do?
Rear Bumberett Removal: Best Way To Do?
Hi,
As it is time in the Notheast to gargae the car, I want to have Bumber Plugs paint the two rear bumberetts on my '99 911 C4.
How is the best way to take these off the car and exactly what do I need????
Thanks guys.
Mike

It's not that difficult. Underneath the bumperette there are plastic covers. Just use a small flathead screwdriver and pry them out. Then there is a bolt that holds the bumperette in place. It's hard to see without a flashlight. You have to use a long allen wrench to unscrew the bolt. I'm not sure what size it is--I will check. Loosen the bolt enough and you can lift up and the bumperette will unhook from the metal bracket.
Yep, was about to say the same. I just did it last month.
You lay down behind your car with an allen head and an extender and you loosen the 2 screws (M8x25 I believe).
The bumperettes are 'hooked' on metal brackets. Very, very straight forward process...
Enjoy! It gives such a different look, you'll love them!
