HEY Bmoney.. that would be my car.. there was one other one that was black that did shows, but it was a 997S. I don't think I will be showing in 2009. The show scene is overboard now with what you need to win, and I don't want my car at that level. That would include at least 4 TV's, more subwoofers, and stereo equipment, not to mention more leather and crap on the car than I would want. That is one big thing about TWC..we come to WIN, and WIN only.

My last show here in Seattle after the car was finished in white I won best euro.

Size: 158.6 KB here is a pic of the double din install .the unit is an avn6620 eclipse which is made by fujitsu. Remember you have to leave approx 1/16 inch gap on top because the radio tilts out..will try for a better pic. tomorrow..

Just curious. Why don't more people choose to use the lower console location for the Nav unit?

Double din placement

I kept mine in the upper console because I felt it was easier to veiw and reach the controls. The Fujitsu also tilts forward to install dvds and I was afraid it would interfere with the shifter. The second concern is my climate control is in the lower console and I was not sure if it had a long enough harness to move to the upper console..Name: car stereo.jpg

I installed mine in the lower console. I think the install is much cleaner and the surround much easier to make look factory. I used a non tilt out pioneer head unit so I did not have to worry about interference with the shifter but a swing out might work fine. It is easier to reach than the upper console but probably a little harder to view.

single din is easy it will fit right in. the only thing you have to be concerned with is if you have an amp in the car. If you dont you will just need the ant. adapter and the conversion adapter for the power and speakers. Porsche doesn't make a spec. harness so you can get a late model VW and it will work.

Great work. Here's my setup with the Alpine W505. I'm planning on painting the face black.

How do I know if I have an amp? I have the basic stereo w/o nav.

Can you point me to the right place to buy the VW harness? Not sure which one to buy. TIA!
