Pagid Yellows + SS Lines = huge brake upgrade

Ok. I'm officially impressed. I got my lines re-bled this morning after having the SS lines and pagid yellows installed last week. I was initially disappointed as the brakes weren't stopping quite right and the pedal was spongy.

A quick brake bleeding and all is well again. It squeals like a school bus, but wow does it stop hard now! I'm shocked at what a difference pads and lines make. I had some sticker shock over the cost of the pads, but if they last as long as they're supposed to, I'm good with it. I'm sure the pads have more to do with the brake feel than the lines, but I figured as long as they were in there, why not?

Great info! How is the brake dust on those Pagid pads?

Dusty but not sticky. It's sticky that's the problem. Seems like the pagid dust cleans right up.

Glad things worked out for you and doing some extensive research sounds like it paid off.

I'll be doing a brake flush in the coming weeks and will probably opt to swap put the lines too. Did you bleed the brakes yourself and how easy/difficult was the process?

I had the shop do it all. It's definitely a DIY project if you're so inclined, but it's just so much faster having them do it on the lift.

I think it's worse The trick is, I think, to slow the car down and use the least amount of pressure you can to get it stopped. It only squeals at speeds below 5mph. It's pretty bad though. When it starts squealing I can release the pressure some and it stops. I'm sure there's a trick to this. Kathy is going to hate it

Dog,

The squealing will stop after you bed them in at the track and will stay quiet for a couple of weeks until you wear through the material that you bedded in. Then the squealing will restart. I've starting changing to yellows for track days and back for the street (Textar's). It takes about 5-10 min per corner if you don't use the anti-squeal shims. My street pads squeal mildly without the shims but it's tolerable.

The yellows are like throwing out an anchor aren't they...

They are noisy, but wow do they stop well. Night and day over the stock pads. What I'm most impressed with is the fact that they still stop so well during normal street driving conditions. Even cold they grab very firmly. I'm looking forward to getting them on the track. I am just far too lazy to switch between street and track pads

Suncoast for the lines and my shop for the pads and fluid. Take a look at Rennstore for the pads. They're a pagid dealer and have some very strong pricing.

Hey, how bad is it to not use the anti squeal shims for the street? I change my pads out quite a bit for street/track and those shims are a *****, any info is appreciated
