Isn't the top speed in a 996 is gear limited, not HP or drag limited? A supercharger doesn't get you going any faster. Anything that has better gearing should be about the same speed as you. Basically anything has a 170MPH top speed.

If you meant what cars would be similar in acceleration - there are lots of cars that are low-sub 5 seconds to 60 nowadays. Quartermile probably separates men from the boys now.

As for the track, I don't think HP (alone) is enough to group similar cars.

yes I meant acceleration similarity. I know the 996 is supposed to be around 4.9 seconds 0-60mph stock so if you added a supercharger I was trying to find out what car would be similiar.

Ferrari 360 Modena
Maximum power: 300 kW (400 bhp) @ 8500 rpm
Maximum torque: 373 N·m (275 lbf·ft) @ 4750 rpm
Curb Weight 1450 kg (3197 lb)
0-62 mph: 4.5

VF Dyno (Porsche 996 C2, 99-01, 3.4)
Curb Weight 1320 kg (2920 lb)
(SC'd 996 should be a bit faster than a stock 360)

Probably the C6 Vettes (non-Z06), 997S, and the new M3.

Of those cars you mentioned, he will only see the taillights of the Z06 with a properly installed centrifuge SC on his 99 C2.
