Oil filter wrench same between 996 and 997?
I was about to buy an oil filter wrench at sunset for $33, but found out my friend has one that works on his 997S. My question, will the oil filter wrench for 2007 997S work on a 2003 996 targa?
And if not, anyone know of a cheaper way to get the filter off without buying a $33 wrench?

I got mine at PepBoys. Can't remember the exact number but just drive there with your car and test a couple of them out until you find the one that fits. That's what I did and it works perfectly and it's a hard metal not plastic. Hope that helps.
