C4s instument cluster back lights not working

C4s instument cluster back lights not working
guys,
my folks just picked up a C4S today (after me bigging up my gt3) and all was perfect then bingo, all the lights behind the instrument panel went out. needless to say my mum, who breaks everything, is .....well doing what mums do best
anyone got any ideas for this, all dials works fine, OBC reads fine, tiptronic readout is fine etc etc. theres just no illumination. also the dim adjustment doesnt seem to be doing anything when i turn it.
theres not a way she could have just turned it all off could she?

update:
the rear plate lights and the other instrument back lights (ie for switches) are also not working. it seems like these all run from the one circuit so fuse would be first point of contact.
checked that and it wasnt blown. is there a relay covers this circuit that might have taken a turn?
