So I'm on the highway and a convertible gallardo passes me by & it is pretty dang loud. I speed up to catch up to him and a few times he downshifts and I do the same, each time we are pretty much the same.

He did have a passenger in the car, and i was alone. he does have a convertible and i have a coupe 996 c2. i thought he would blow by me, but either his car isnt that much faster, or he doesnt know how to drive?
He did bounce off his rev limiter a few times....

i gave a Gallardo a Run about a year a go... untill he got into the 3rd gear... then it was Bye bye from him to me...

He should have made it look like you were standing still.

 

doesn't sound right, a stock gallardo should take you 3-4 car lengths from any gear, top end it will smoke you if driven correctly

sounds like he's a noob driver and you're a pro driver. he probably shifted before redline and didn't have the gas pedal all the way down (don't be surprised, unless you're use to driving your car hard like you stole it, most people don't really know how to drive high hp cars (for example my father lol) )
