Plastic cap in Transmission

The plastic cap from the fill tube I was using fell into the transmission. I tried to both fish it out and flush the transmission with fluid, but neither worked and I cannot feel the cap. Is there a way to open the transmission without dropping it or is it possible to run the transmission with the plastic cap in it? The cap is about .5” x .25”.

Ideas? Suggestions?

I don't think I would drop the transmission (a purest would). I'd run it for 1K and change the fluid. (Don't tell anyone I recommended this, but it is what I would do secretly). If you are tracking the car or if it is a tiptronic that is a whole different story. The tip can be damaged easily with foreign materials.

Did you try a cherry picker? I would go to the auto parts store and buy a few types of grabbing tools. If that fails then I would contact a professional for their advice. Good Luck.
