Does anyone know what kind of aftermarket changer interfaces with the CDR23
Does anyone know what kind of aftermarket changer interfaces with the CDR23
My car is an 03 Coupe and originally came with the Single CD deck model CDR-23. Unfortunately, the CD player usually skips and does not play CD-R's. So now I am torn between upgrading the CD deck unit or adding a worthy changer.
I've been told that Sony makes a changer that interfaces with the factory Becker stereo. Does anyone know anything about such???
Thanks in advance.

Only the Porsche CDC-4 changer made by Becker. Jeff
Many years ago Sony did have a changer that worked with the 210 and 220 head units. But that has long been discontinued and it would not work with a 2003 MOST sytem even if you could find the Sony. Jeff

Have you tried using different brands of CDR's.
Some brands use different chemicals for the cd surface and you can easily tell by looking at the colour of the blank CDR. This does mean that there are different levels of reflectivity between the different CDR types which may affect the cd player with some brands but not others.
Note that CD-RW are the most difficult to playback due to their dark surface - yet many players nowdays do not seem to have any issues playing these as well.
I note that others have posted in the past that they have had no issues with playing CDRs.
Another trick you may want to try is to record the CDR at a slower speed eg 2x or 4x instead of the faster speeds which are common on burners nowdays.

thanks for your insights
I see what you're talking about Jeff. It only took me 3 hours of research to find that out last night
.
Costas: I will try that slower speed recording and a more reflective CD-R disc. By the way, I noticed that you were from Adelaide Aus. I'm going there next month. I have some business to do at Melbourne. I also have family in the suburbs or 7 Hills.

Oakland - I hope you enjoy your visit.
Melbourne should be quite nice in Oct/Nov as that is basically our Spring season.
Adelaide is approx. 6hrs West of Melbourne and we only have around 1.5 Million people in our city, so it is around a third the size of Melbourne...
A lot less Porsches get around the streets of Adelaide, but we have some of the best driving roads...relatively little traffic compared with Melbourne or Sydney.
I live 10 minutes from the CBD area in Adelaide and 10 minutes in the other direction I have some nice Motorcycling/Driving roads through our foothills....
