Sort of newbie...
Spent the last few weeks lurking and finally decided to come out of the closet. Been hanging out on Rennlist, but thought I'd venture out into some of the other forums. Good to see that a lot of folks over there are here too...
Picked up my first p-car last September, an '01 Arctic Silver/Black C2 Cabriolet. Been in love with Porsches since a teen, but finally living the dream. She's been in the shop for the last four weeks (I told the body shop to take their time - they took me up on it...) and she should be out soon - started out as a front bumper cover replacement, then it became a front bumper cover conversion (turbo-look) which included side rockers... sprung for the turbo-look rear bumper cover as an after-thought, which probably extended her stay in the shop by a week or so. Here's some "new-born" shots taken shortly after I picked her up... post-face lift shots to be posted when she returns...

I notice you did the side markers already. Did you yank the amber from the front turn signals as well?

Yes, I performed the amberectomy a couple of weeks ago... the headlights were off the car anyway while they were dry-fitting the front bumper... the first one took me about two hours (that included a frustration time-out), but the second one only took me about 15 minutes... I'm sure I could have been more elegant about it, but on the second one I basically melted a hole in every bit of amber I could reach, after about 10 minutes, I pretty much perforated the whole lens... spent the last five minutes with a needle nose picking out the pieces... Popped in silver bulbs both in the head lamp assembly and in the side markers... Won't know if they work until I get it back... Can't wait!

Hey Ed!
I glad to see that you're here. The addiction I have developed has forced me to explore other forums, so I'm here!
Like I said, my amberectomy was basically a hack job (not near as elegant as your pictures) but it worked... I'll post pictures of the whole shebang as soon as I get her back.
Great to know you're here!
