Any single din headunit will be the same fit as OEM. As far as matching is concerned, take a browse through crutchfield and find one that would mesh well. I know the newer alpines (the ones that are ipod specific) can change colour of the backlighting and text to match different colours of instrument clusters.

ditto... i'll be getting an alpine soon. the color on some of the unit changes, but not all of it. you cant beat the options of satellite, ipod, and hd radio if you want that too. all can be controlled by the head unit which provides song info, etc. i love the oem look, but, ...you can hide the ipod in the glovebox or elsewhere, the sat is all out of site (except maybe the antenna depending where you put it. some have been successful putting it underneath the alarm cover in center of dash by the windshield. many will say antenna inside will not work. i have tried both sirius and xm and they both do with full signal in two different cars.)

you can get an alpine unit that does all this for around $170. the satellite will cost you an extra $150 i think. ipod cable is included. a unit like this would have been $1500 back in the 80's.

i prefer the oem look, but the capabilites and options of the alpine make it a must have for me. make sure you know what you are doing or have a shop that does regarding install... i have read some get an error code after the swap because the car doesn't "see" the oem radio anymore. i could do it, but gonna have a local shop who does a lot of porsches do it so i don't have to deal with anything like that.

I installed the single din JVC KDNX5000 I think,
It has just about everything: sat, bluetooth, hd, plays dvd, divx etc. ipod control
I personally love it, and I didn't have to do much to install it. Just got the proper adapter for the back and hooked up the wires appropriately. Even ran the antenna for the sat, under the alarm light unit.
Of course, you are only looking at a screen the size of an iphone. But it works.

The only problem with double dins is that they scream:

I went with the Kenwood excelon line. Tons of features and looks good in the p-car.

For a single DIN, check out the JVC KD-ADV49. Real stealth look and very good feature set.

No, but I can try and get some. I'm taking off skiing for 2 weeks, but I'll try to get one before taking off in the morning.

It's a machined aluminum lighter with a Porsche crest. I bought it on ebay about 2 years ago. When it arrived I felt the **** stuck out to far, so I machined it shorter.
