Buyer Warning Ira Porsche Danvers Ma
Scott, I just noticed your new signature. I love it! And the best part is that it is true......we ALL bow down to the garage. When I move back to McLean next summer (temp in LV for wife's job) I will be peeking in on that masterpiece.
1101mv: who did you talk to? they fixed my doors problem
Did you talk to Ryan from Chambers? he is a good friend of mine!! he just started working in Chambers for a month, I never liked their service until Ryan started working there
Alfie: what is going on here?

Ken is the sales manager and Alifie is the one that promised me a loaner every time I service the Porsche. Those are the liars over at Ira Porsche. Yes Ryan at Herb Chambers is so far very good to me. This is some pics of my Porsche just washed it today.

I know Alfie and this does not sound like something Alfie would do. By the way, I bought a TT Cab from Herb Chambers and they suck too. As a matter of fact, I've yet to find a "good" dealer.

I live in Orange County NY and bought my 2004 C4S Cab from Alfie at IRA Porsche. Alfie and the rest of the sales team were a pleasure to work with and very professional.
Did you test drive the car? For regular maintenance why are you bringing the car there for service when it's 3 hours from you?
That makes no sense to me... there must be a closer dealer.

I wasn't very happy with the experiences I had with Ira Porsche either (or Alfie!). Herb Chambers wasn't any better. They only have one service manager for their entire Porsche service dept. He's the only guy besides the techs in the garage that does anything with Porsche service. Good luck getting a returned phone call from him. With how many cars they sell and service, they're just plain stingy for not hiring somebody else to help him.
My best experiences were with Pass & Weisz Porsche in Burlington. Overall, they returned phone calls promptly and always provided a free rental car for any warranty fixes.

teflon_jones: when is the last time you went to Herb? There is a new service manager, who is also a member of this board, he is my good friend and I am sure that the new service department is excellent!
deetz,
The last time my car was in for service at Chambers was back in July before I sold it. The service manager at the time was the same guy who'd been there for years.... just looked for his name but I can't find it!
If the only Porsche service guy is your friend, then Chambers is still not doing their Porsche customers justice (no offense to your friend). When there's only one guy, who takes care of customers when he's out for a drive with a customer to make sure they're happy with a repair (I had many long waits while he was gone!). Also, your friend is going to need days off. Chambers didn't have anybody cover the service dept when the old guy was out. What kind of service is that ona $100K car??!!?!?!!?
