Do you have any pics of your console? Were you able to form it around the e-brake handle without sewing pieces together?

yes, the ebrake handle iteslf is one piece. But the handle sits down in the console and is parallel to the gound then the handle is released. The cut-out of the console area for the e-brake, i was not able to do in 1 piece. and there's a button area for the top and the door lock which I also had place a patch over small area. So for the most part, the whole console was done with 4 peices. 1 for the sliding storage tray, 1 to cover the whole console, 1 for the e-brake cut out, and 1 small patch....I'll snag some pics

Great job. I was concered about the dip in the console where the e-brake handle goes. Looks like you were able to stretch it nicely. As you note though this material will fade in the sun, correct? I wanted to do my center console, A pillars in the same material. Wouldn't look good if it faded in a year.

i don't know if this will fade in the sun. But i do know that it's not made for sun like the alcantara is. Just to be safe, i wouldn't put this is any area that gets constant sun light.
but you can see that this has nice nap on it, but the gulffab black alcantara has a much shorter nap...

Very nice Jam. What is the material? Alcantara from Gulf Fabrics? What glue did you use to put it on?

chuck, that is not from my car, not easy but doable.. use 3m 80-90 adhesive glue.
here is some pics of my interior trims in alcantara.
sorry using cheap camera, looks way nicer in real!

Great look Jam. Was the Alcantara from Gulf Fabrics? I was going to order Jet Black and do the same areas you had covered. How did you glue it on the door pulls? Did you find it necessary to put the stitching on the door pockets to get it to fit? I was going to go without stiching since I am cheap and can't do that myself.

yeah, stitching is some professional stuff!!
also when i talked to the guy at gulf, he told there's a Panel weight and Normal weight Alcantara...One made for seat coverings, and one made to cover door panels and other stuff. The panel sample i have seems to have a backing to it, but it doesn't stretch at all...Do u know which type of alcantara those peices were done it?

Got it from gulf fabrics, stitching is not necessary, but give it a nicer detailed look.
I did diamond quilt stiching with french seams.
Buy panel alcantara, and use 3M 90 adhesive spray.
This material stretches very well, but you gotta work it, start your trim in the middle and work you way out edges.
some trims involve lots of pulling and stretching!!
Get an extra yard of alcantara, just in case you gotta redo some trims.
don't put too much glue it will stain the other side of fabrics. ask me how I know!
hope that helps.

i used 3M 77 or something, and it's very thin. I found that I had to spray it and let it stand for a 15 secs, or hold the can far back enough that it lightly mists the material and panel. if i spray and there's bubbles of glue, i try to get some of the glue up with a paper towel.
I just ordered some Alcantara yesterday.

The sample I have only seems to stretch in one direction. Did you notice this with the fill yard?
