My new ride

I had my eye on this about two years ago. Well, I picked it up today. 2002 Targa, 31,000 miles, 6-speed. I had a 99 Boxster about a year ago, so this is my second Porsche. Besides RMS, anything I need to know?

Nice looking targa!

Yeah, you are going to want to watch really carefully for oil leaks. The RMS leak is not a big deal, what is a big deal is when the intermediate shaft seal goes. The cover has been updated a couple of times, when your clutch goes, it's time to replace both the RMS and the Intermediate Shaft seal with the updated parts.

Nice car, besides that, the other things are relatively minor in nature. Engine mounts don't seem to last too long, clutch life is a bit short also (might as well do the clutch with the RMS) and trunk (hood) shocks wear out not too long either.
What do you plan on doing with the car? Just cruising the streets or going to the track?

Its lowered a little and has an aftermarket exhaust, I think its a Fab speed maybe? I'm not planning to track it. I happen to have a supercharger kit in my basement. I couldn't sell it on here so I may use it, jury is still out on that though. If I post the VIN can I get specs? I'm pretty excited, the car is spotless. I had to buy a battery today because it sat so long. He told me it needed a battery so it wasn't a surprise. It did do something weird today. I was on the highway and the oil pressure gauge went to zero, I almost crapped my pants. It shot back up and went to zero a couple of times. Now it seems fine and hasn't screwed up again.

Thanks, I'm on cloud 9! This was a little present for myself. My child support payments end in June, I will have no change in lifestyle and even have extra money. 40 is my year.....

I was surprised it didn't sell, for it to work on my car I have to spend another 1k for a harness. Its a direct bolt on kit for 00-01 but not my '02.

I'm thinking sensor too, I can't imagine loosing oil pressure and having it come right back.

Thank you, here is a pic through the rear wheel. Sorry for quality, I-phone and flashlight, my garage is poorly lit. Does this look factory?
