how to disable rear spolier to git gt3

hi, please can someone help me, i have a 996 c2 2001 and i am about to add the gt3 spoiler, im wondering if anyone has done this or added any spoiler, if you have what did you do to stop spoiler coming up at 75mph?

porscheshop.co.uk sell a relay for £50 but also said you can just disconnect the motor? has anyone just unplugged it? does it not come up a error on dash?

any info would be great

Posche sells a harness that just has the hookup for the fan motor. I installed a gt3/aero decklid last year and was worried about that too. I removed the old decklid and disconnected the harness near the passenger side of the engine from the main harness. I installed the decklid and switched the fan from the old one. I used the new harness to connect from the main harness to the fan, it doesn't have the extra branch on it for the spoiler motor. You might have to have the computer reset, maybe. When i start my car the spoiler light comes on but as soon as i start driving it shuts off and never comes back on. The only thing I am skepticle is whether my fan comes when the engine is up to temp so that might be a trip to the dealer.

I did the same thing with my 4S but with a GT2 fixed wing. Call Sunset Porsche in Oregon for the harness. Cheapest I've found! GL

when i bought my car it had a wing, and the normal harness.
part of the harness (not the fan part) was just disconnected and zip tied to something...
I swapped the deck lid for a normal one and just plugged both parts of the harness.
