1st time porsche owner looking for Navigation CDs

I don't have enough post counts to post this in the Market Place. So, trying here....

Howdy. I recently picked up 2000 Cab with the factory navigation. The car didn't come with any CDs though and I just want to find out if the navigation actually works. Does anyone have a CD they can loan me just so I can test? Its kind of a wierd request, I know. But I'm practically tapped out and I don't want to pay for a used CD until I know for sure that the navi works. Can anyone help? I can give a small paypal deposit if that helps...

That is the old old nav system. Most people will just say upgrade to a new after market unit. I dont think the first gen was very good.

I want to say it was 2002 or 2003 and again a new one in 2005 and once more in 08 I beleive. The 02-04 still uses 7 or 8 CD's. You can buy a newer set for $350ish at Suncoast. The 05 uses one DVD. No update DVD is avail to my knowledge. I have also read you can't upgrade to the other system. So the best thing would be to buy an after market unit.

I spoke to a local dealer today. They said there is a 3 disk version of their navigation CDs that they give out for free. They also have a 2 disk version that costs $300. The CD sets are not compatible with one-another and will only work in specific PCMs.

Is there a way to find out, with out going to the dealer, which set my car needs/uses?
