Looking for input on 2002 Targa

Just as the title says, I have found what appears to be a good price on a low-mile 2002 Targa. It is cross country from me, and I would be relying upon the PPI.

The car can be found at : http://www.wbminc.com/web/1532/inven...arrera%20Targa

I was curious if there is anything I should know about this vehicle or Targa's in general?

Thanks in advance!

Options list says it has Navigation. I don't see a screen? In fact, is the center stack configuration normal for a targa? That isn't the way my C2 came from the factory. I'm also surprised they took the pictures with the interior so dirty.

I don't see a rear window wiper or a wood/leather steering wheel listed on the sell sheet.
The wheels haven't been detailed. Seems they haven't put a lot of care into the presentation.
Given the distance from you, I'd proceed cautiously. See if they will provide a PIP, Service Records and a CarFax.
Good luck.

If you continue, ask for a picture of the option code sticker under the front trunk.

Hmmmm, the option list seems grossly inaccurate. But that doesn't mean it's a bad deal.Targa's aren't my favorite model but if I was looking for a black Targa I don't think I'd let this deal slip away without having an independent service shop check it out. Then make your decision based on their report and if this is the model and color you want.Even if it's a great buy when it comes to this kind of car I like to ask myself if this is the car I want or am I just settling for a good deal?

I bet it had a double din stereo at one time. The AC controls are moved and the Cd storage is in the wrong place. It looks a little hacked.

Not the best pic but here is how it is supposed to look.

Targa is fantastic (whether or not that's the right one)

I've got a 2003 Targa that I upgraded with a Cargraphic sport exhaust, 997 short shifter, Carrera side skirts and Misha carbon fiber wing -- that I absolutely LOVE to drive.

I tested-out the cabriolets and coupes and found the Targa to be the best combination of stiffness/driveability with the open-air experience.

That black one does raise a lot of questions given it's got the wrong options listed and someone has clearly monkeyed-around with the interior.

But I think you're on the right path if you've decided on a Targa -- good luck!!
