How many miles do you put on a 996?
I've owned my last 996 in 2000 and put about 40,000 miles on it (it was new when I got it). I am now thinking about getting back in the saddle and buying a used 996 with approx. 60,000 miles on it. I remember that people then were nervous once the 996's reached 60,000 or 70,000 miles... what's your guys experience, how many miles do you think is "safe" to put on a 996 before the troubles (i.e. expensive >$3,000 repairs) start?
Thanks!!

I bought my 2004 C4S CAB. in Sept. '08. It had 13k miles. It now has almost 20k. So in 1 year, I've put 7k miles on it. It would have alot less but I do really like driving it even when running small errands. But it doesnt come out of the garage when I know its going to rain that day... and it will never come out if theres snow on the ground cuz if there's snow, there's salt and I will not subject my car to salt. Call me weird, but thats just me.
Bought it with 46k miles 2 years ago. It has now 104k miles. No problems, drive it everyday. The good thing about buying a car with miles, is that major compression problems and such are most likely sorted out before you buy it. Do a PPI just in case.
