Question Need help buying a carrera cab

hey guys,
I had to sell my boxster s last year, but now I am ready to buy another car. I want to get a carrera. I have under 30k to work with. I have found a few 99 carreras around between $22-25,000 with under 40K miles on them. I think these are fair prices, but I am wondering if I can get into a 996 with a 3.6 in it for my price range.. I am in California and dont need a c4s, but I would like to find a c2 with the larger 3.6l motor, but I dont know if that model was offered in 99-01.. Can you guys help me?-
is there such thing as a c2 with a 3.6 offered in a 996 in 99-02?
or would i be looking at a c4s in this price range?
Thanks
Scott

You should be able to find an 02+ with under 50K on it for 30 or less...ive been watching my blue book go under 30k for some time now...though i have 68K on mine

Be careful, you could be walking into a buzzsaw. If you read some of the other posts in the 996 forum, you'll note the RMS problem. It's real and most prevalent in the '99 - '01 models. Your initial cost may need to supplemented with repair costs.
Suggest you look at how you can get covered by an extended warranty to give you some piece of mind.
Good Luck

Yes, from 02-04 the standard engine was a 3.6L. Only from 99-01 was the 3.4. In 05, you had 3.6L and 3.8L.
