spoiler light

its a carrera 2 2001 with 320bhp 3.6 engine facelift, im in the uk, alot of people said you have to go to the dealer to get this done, i thought there must be a way by doing something with wire, it must have a earth feed or something,

You need a new wiring harness that you get from a dealer and then you can install it yourself. That is the only way to do it that I'm aware of.

Even with the new wiring harness, the cars computer has to be programmed for a fixed wing at the dealership.

i believe the wiring harness is enough for the 996s, no re-program needed

a new wiring harness is a good way to go. i cheaped out and modified the existing wiring harness. it was years ago that i did it, but it was simply a matter of spicing the right wires together to get rid of the dashboard light and make sure the 3rd brake light worked correctly.

i don't remember what i did exactly, so i can only say that you can modify your existing harness (for someone that is so inclined) if you find the right wiring diagram (rennlist is good for that stuff).
