so basically the only advantage of the under car shifter versus replacing the 'lever thing', is having 3 settings?

The reason I went with the B&M under car kit is that I had read where some people didn't like the B&M in car SSK because it caused the shifts to be notchy and require too much shifting effort, which I didn't want. A few folks had installed the under car kit and liked it a lot, and one did so after uninstalling the in car kit due to those issues, so I gave it a try, and am very happy with it.
