Hi everyone.

I am looking at a used 996 Carrera 2.

However, i have seen a few nice ones that i like, few with GT3 bodykits, some with new engines fitted ect.

Then i read about how terrible the engines are for "blowing up" ?
Can someone confirm because it has me worried so much that i am actually considering not getting one. Im trying to blot it out, but i have to use my head not my heart.

The main one i am looking at has had a new engine 7,000 miles ago and a new clutch fitted by porsche. Is this something t be wary of?

If someone can shed somelight on to how common this fault is, that would ease my mind also. I am from England.

I have had 2 E46 M3's, a 2004 996C2 and currently own a 2002 996C4S. Each of these cars are high performance cars, proper maintainence is KEY. If you are interested in a car, have an inspection performed at a Porsche dealership. See if you can obtain the service records. The couple hundred dollars is worth the piece of mind.
