Wink NEW MEMBER 1st P-CAR

Hi everyone, I'm so excited to let y'all know that I'm finally a new owner of a P-car. Forgive me if my English suck since it is my 3rd languages. She is an preowned at a local PORSCHE dealer but previous owner has kept it so well and the interior is still smell like new. A little about me, I'm 33 yrs old married and Porsche has always been my favorite car since I was 12 (just like that kid in the Porsche commercial) and always dream to own one. 21 years later I finally owned it. Took me that long but worth the wait. But before I go on to introduce the car, let me first say that y'all have a very beautiful cars. I've been reading this forums for about a week now and love it very much. I'm on it everyday even when I'm at work or at home watching TV with the wife. The P-car people are very friendly and supportive. I'm looking forward to participate in any local or clubs meets. Now lets get to the good part.
She is an 2003 3.6 Carrera c2 <----I have no idea what C2 stand for maybe 2 wheel drive. Any way its has only 25k miles with factory OEM GT3 aero kit, 6-spds manual , black leather interior. Color is Seal Gray perfect condition. I saw her on the way home from work mistaken her as an GT3 but it was a clone from factory. She was in the process being unload from the transporter and my instinct telling me that the time has come . So I bust a u-turn to check it out. After spending nearly 2 hours checking out the car I finally took her home without the wife permission (only those are married people understand this part) Well she cool with it now
Ok, so the good part is done now the bad part is....... You guys with the blowed up engine are freaking me out. I'm so shock that P-car have this kind of issues. I thought only the E46 M3 have engine failure!... Oh well it was too late now I just going to enjoy her till she break down. Good thing my bank offer extended warranty within 10 days of purchased so I got scared and jumbs right on it bought extended 36K miles for engine, transmission, etc....for the next 3 years or whichever come first. That will take care my anxiety. The only last problem I found is that the steering feel so slimzy, Its like floating feel. Or hydroplane at high speed? That is the reason why I didn't take her up to 3 digit yet. Alignment or wheel balance? front bushing or is that how P-car feel? My DD E46 M3 with track set-up feel super solid at any speed no vibration or anything near the Porsche. I will check her out this weekend. Even thought my car has extended warranty I still want to take it apart myself to check it out first ( I like taken thing apart and put back together)...Any way, I think I wrote long enough and don't want to make yall fall sleep so I stop here. LET THE MODS BEGIN!!!! Thanks everyone

Welcome and congrat's on a beautiful ride. As for the the steering feel ...floating feel...hydroplane at high speed feel... other than a real problem it sounds like it could be the common feel from a stock U.S. C2... they are setup with a higher ride height from the factory due to U.S. bumper height restrictions....can be addressed by lowering via a set of coilovers (Bilstein, JIC etc..)....would also suggest an upgrade to GT3 sway bars at that time. Like you said "Let the Mod's begin!"

Enjoy!

Awesome car congrats. Cant wait to get into one myself. I agree with the others try getting some coilovers it will most probably fix your problem. It looks like you have some suspension mods done to your M3 so it's going to feel worlds different from a stock C2.

Either way have fun with her.

Thanks Fly996, I just finished get off the phone with tirerack order some H&R coilover and should be arrive this weekend for installation. Also, where about do you go to buy a GT3 front sway bar beside Dealer? GT3 Cup front spoiler also on the way. That is for a start. For some reason this mod bug keep draining my wallet LOL..

Fly996, thanks for quick response and the links. Price seem pretty affordable for the GT3 sway bar. I remember reading something about upgrading GT3 sway bar and the handling doesn't come out right? Some run just front some run both. Not sure what cause it. Is there a special set-up with this sway bar?

Never heard of anyone not upgrading both front and rear. When I added my GT3 sway bars the handling improved dramatically. My suspension is setup to GT3 spec's (height, camber etc.). Car handles beautifully (I have JIC 7/10 coilovers).

Sway's are set to the following holes:

Front 3 in

Rear 2 in

Oh, and it looks good too
