Advice on 1999 996 coupe
I am thinking of getting a 1999 911 Carrera Coupe, around 60k miles and a bit under $20k.
I currently have a Mercedes - which has been very reliable and fun to drive. Anything I should be on the look out for this model year, any issues, or things to worry about?
How is the power? It seems a bit conservative at around 296HP, but I have not driven it to see how it feels yet.

For the price you can't beat it.....many will tell you run, others like me will tell you to get all service records and research what if anything has broken...RMS, IMS, Motor replacement.....clutch replacement? other?
Curious if the price is what is motivating you 100% to a 99 with 60k miles or something else. You can find lower mileage 99s out there for more money but with 100% clean bill of healths. I know I have one.
Power is conservative in todays HP market but the car still gets up and goes and can handle like a bat out of hell with some basic suspension tuning

Yeah, the price is definitely the better selling point - I want to stay under $20k.
Other options I have in this range are a C32 AMG, and a BMW M3 - both will be a bit newer but similar milage. Both also have more power, but the Porsche definitely has more appeal for me.

Also it's the 5 speed tiptronic and not the manual. Will I be missing out on too much without the manual? I don't really have much experience with manual cars, but I could learn if it is that much better a driving experience.
