Before I install, I just want to check there are no "horror" stories with the cap. I have only so far heard good things about the sound change.

Also if you are using it, how long have you had it in place, time/mileage....

There was a guy who found it floating around inside his airbox, lucky it didn't get sucked in.
I have one question for you, why in the world do you want to put a 2 cent part on your 70k car, that could get sucked in?
If you really want some response, get the fabspeed or evo intake kit. A whole lot safer and adds some power.

70k, more like 90k... but still Eventually I want to put the fabspeed or evo, but I need to see if it's something I want to keep in. It may be too much noise for the highway when I drive the car daily. Muffler noise I can deal with, but sometimes too much intake noise can be anoying(At first I loved my de-snorked boxster, later I hated it).

Corey, I have a new in the box Fabspeed cold airbox kit and BMC Filter, I'll sell you for 200 bucks. I plan on getting a turbo in the spring and never had it installed. I believe their cost is around 300 bucks.

I'll let you know after I decide if I like the sound of the orange cap or not. If yes, then I will most likley want an real cold air kit.

Corey,

It's a sweet little sound, if you have aftermarket exhaust you'll hardly hear it, not annoying at all.

C4S Surgeon,

Did you really know a guy who found it floating in his airbox? I thought the air blew the other way.

Cheers,
Corey...

Corey,
That's what this guy told me, he has a Boxter. He said it was deformed/almost melted.
I wouldn't take the chance if I were you.

Interesting... The boxster doesn't have a place to put an orange cap, all you actually have to do is remove the snork. Maybe he meant something else. I do think I'll put the cap in for the weekend and if I like it I'll get the cold air kit so I won't have to use it permantly

Cheers,
Corey
