got the hood badge on - what a difference

at the same time, i also ordered from Pelican a small crest for the airbag - is this the same thing like the hood crest? I guess I will have to take the airbag off....anyone know how to do this?

or is the crest just taped on?

Lee my understanding is that you will ruin the bag cover if you remvoe the crest - some people have been using the 3m tape on the back of the silver crest and simply placing it over the gold one....I wouldn't do that b/c that thing will knock your eye out if it deployes - just my opinion

The airbag popping you in the eye is a myth in my opinion only beacuse of this picture.... the airbag was designed to deploy around the crest.. otherwise Porsche would have some badge faces out there

 

I bought a new airbag off of ebay with the silver crest for $200.

It might be cool to have the Porsche insignia imprinted on your forehead.

 

Your best bet is Carnewal.com. I ordered a leather airbag with the silver crest from Gert. He should be able to get you any color you want. I had the dealer do the install, and am very pleased with the results!

I wish the airbag "silver crest" had red bars like the silver hood crest. I may need to remove mine and have it somehow painted.

I wonder how long in what temperature oven it will take to "cure" the enamel...
