Thoughts on painting center console other than black exterior color?

I am thinking of painting the center console and some of the other cheap plastic interior bits. I am trying to decide if I want to just paint them the exterior color of black or possibly add some pop and color to the interior. Anyone seen a center console painted a non-exterior color? Not the alumalook or carbon. For example, I have a black car, and was wondering if white or even red could look good if you had some subtle other accents to match, i.e. white stitching or red stitching or something.

GriffC4S is infamous around these parts
If you have other colors in the interior, such a stitching, then you may want to match that color. But besides doing the center console, I would go with the colored dial panel in the same color. Check with Eric at BumperPlugs.com for his ideas. This is his business and he know what would look good.

Never liked the colored console - looks too plasticky and trick for my taste. I'd vote for staying with the black look inside.

When you paint the center color the color of the car, it doesn't look like a cheap painted plastic part... it looks like the center of the car is popping into the interior.

at least in my case, where I have a speed yellow car. I also have yellow seatbelts and planning to add a yellow RPM gauge.

I think painting the center console the same exterior color, or in some cases a accent color, can look really good. Just make sure to have it professionally painted.
