Square connector that plugs into back of DSP

Does the square connector that powers the DSP connect to the amp on the other end or can it go directly into the factory head unit? Or can it connect to either one?

Another question. Did all 996es come pre-wired for the DSP panel, amp, and/or cd changer, even if the car didn't come with any or all of them?
