Will 997 engine lid cover fit on 996?

I am talking about the part with the slats on it which lifts up at a certain speed.

The 997 has less slats than the 996, and i like that look better, will the cover from a 997 fit on a 996?

One like this: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/PORSC...Q5fAccessories

One thing I know, is that it won't match the 3rd brake light, like it does on the 997

I have liked the newer cover also. It seems to me that they are different sizes. Go to your favorite Porsche Dealer and compare. I have not taken measurements so I am not 100% sure. I have not had mine out for while so maybe when the weather clears up.

At least I know for sure that:
997 Airbox will fit the 996 engine compartment and the 997 snorkel will align with the opening on the 996 lid... maybe they will fit.
