<<<<Maybe No - A Supercharged 3.4 996 will produce 420HP and 340 TQ at 6800 RPM

Maybe Yes. A Supercharged 3.6 996 will produce 470HP and 360 TQ at 6800 RPM>>>>

WRONG. That is the standard setup for the EVOM SC. Quite different than what I am currently running.

<<<<Both with a modest 5-6lbs boost. Add headers, exhaust and boost it to 8-9PSI and it could be pushing over 500 HP>>>>

8 - 9 pounds of boost would give the car substantialyy more HP than 500. You might ask Todd at EVOM what his car dynoed at with 8 pounds of boost.

<<<<Given the weight differential (425lbs) and the increase in HP, I think a 3.6 996 would take a stock Turbo. Might be real tight on a 0-60 though.>>>>

My 3.4 beats all TT's flat out to 120 mph. No question about it. They don't even begin to challange me until 100 mph.

Find me a stock Porsche Turbo that will get to 60 mph without even breaking the wheels in 4.01 seconds and then to 102 in 9 seconds or less and I'll become a believer.

<<<<So a SC'd 996 would outrun a stock TT in the quarter and to 60/100mph? >>>>

Yes mine does. less time, but lower trap speed.

RWDRIFTC2 is infamous around these parts
I am not sure if my supercharged 996 with be faster than a 996 turbo, but defintely pretty similar in performance. You can't compare apples to oranges. The turbo is a whole different monster. You up the boost or change the turbos and the car is pushing mid 500's to 600hp easily. I am just content with the power I have now, but would like to see if a 996 non turbo can hit the 600hp mark.

I really don't concern myself with the horsepower number as you can get the dyno to tell you anything you want. My goal is to get as much lower end power (up to 120) as I can possibly get out of 3.4 without any internal mods or exhaust mods, stock clutch assembly and without Nitros. Just a blower and proper tuning and sensor tweaking. My target is 0 - 100 in 8.5 seconds or less....then I will be happy. The car must drive as well as stock around town also. So far so good. It's alot of fun pushing the limits of this fine engine.

Another thing I WILL NOT do is increase tire size to increase traction. My drivetrain is perfect now and I want to keep it that way. This may keep me from getting to the 8.5 second goal, not because of lack or power, but because of tire spin. If that turns out to be the case, I'll have to come up with some other goal to modivate me.

I have beaten stock turbos with 3.4L to just over 100mph every time the power in the SC is fantastic and its just the best thing you can possibly do to the 996 at this point. Go for it you will not regret it...

I'm suprised as the turbo has quite a bit more torque. Maybe it's the AWD and increased weight slowing it down compared to the C2 SC'd w/ weaker engine.

Forgive me, for this question if it is dumb. Why is the TT 400 to 500 lbs more than the NA? It can't be just the turbos and intercoolers and radiator. Is there more metal in the chasis or something.

TT is 423# heavier than a na 996, the C4S is 281# heavier, the balance lies in the turbos and related hardware.
