The good the bad the ugly post

The good... Got my painted center console yesterday, looks great, white to match the exterior color with blue trim pieces. I have a white cabrio with a blue top.

The bad... Had to remove my shift ****

The ugly..... I pulled up on the ****, it came off but I slipped and my back hit my rear view mirror and I broke my windshield!! This has to be a first.

I am waiting on 1 more part

I am putting in a new shift boot with the alum. trim on the bottom and a new shift **** then it will be finished. I was scared of the white at first but now that it is in, it looks a lot better than all the blue that use to be in there. When it all together I will post a picture.

should make you feel a little better...not a first as I have seen posts of other broken windshields from hitting/removing/tweaking the rear view mirror

I broke my windshield by simply pushing a suction cup mount onto it for a video camera. I think I sat there for a good 5 minutes in stunned silence. It was at a point just to the right of the mirror. I wonder if the mirror mounting makes that a weak spot?

OK feeling a little better

I was stunned, I could not even admire the install I just did. Good news is I did not scratch the new console. But I shattered the window around the rear view mirror! Vic
