Cool Strange sound

My car is sitting in the garage , I open the door and hear a strange rapid clicking sound for 2 seconds from the dash area.

What the heck is that?

It does it everytime.

Fan behind the dash, mine made a noise for awhile then stopped.
I also got a weird gurgling sound with the heat on on a cold day.

Cool

My car makes this noise without the engine on. Or the key in the ignition. It happens when I open the door and get in.Or stand there listening.
I'm still hoping someone can shed some light on this.

Do you have NAV in the car? I have noticed it in cars with the NAV disk spinning when you unlock the car?

Holger, you're not that far off, I saw two garage queen TT's last yr, both with significant rodent damage.

hmmm - reason I asked about the battery was that I observed a similar sound. A friend of mine jokingly suggested that I should charge the battery. Why not, I thought - what could it hurt? - Problem solved. Might be coincidence - I do not know for sure. Nevertheless, maybe an overnight visit by a battery charger could solve your Porsche's aliment.

Cool

It's not my CD player. Nothing is on or running.

I have now isolated the problem as only occuring when I open the door with closed windows. The noise is coming from the center dash. Clicking that lasts for 1 to 2 seconds.

Could it be the relay that lowers the windows a little bit when you pull on the door handle?
