russbert is infamous around these parts
It's not my CD player. Nothing is on or running. I have now isolated the problem as only occuring when I open the door with closed windows. The noise is coming from the center dash. Clicking that lasts for 1 to 2 seconds.
It's a clicking noise??? Mine sounds like a "whirring" sound ... that's why I thought it might be the CD plus it was coming from the center dash area too! Glad to know I'm not the only one .... but the dealer couldn't replicate it plus it has happened (that I can tell) for several weeks now.

Is the problem constant or periodic? Stay in touch as I'm very interested in resolving this strange issue as well. TIA

You don't have a heart pacer in you do you. Possibly fluttering when electric components are used??

I'm just looking for someone who's had this problem..but it's getting to be quite entertaining.

I ACTUALLY HEAR THE SAME NOISE IN MY 996. I HAVE A FEELING IT IS COMING FROM THE BLENDOOR HEATER BOX DOOR(OPENING AND CLOSING,IT MIGHT BE CRACKED AND SLIPPING).WHEN YOU START YOUR CAR THE ATC AUTOMATICALLY TURNS ON

Heart pacer ... now that's a good one! Maybe it's just getting excited about driving the C4S!

In discussing this with the dealer there have been several complaints re: this issues from others but are NOT able to isolate it.

I have found no pattern whatsoever! I, too, was hoping someone else could help resolve this.
