Snow tire question

Just ordered pirelli 240 snow sport tires from tire rack, 225 and 265. can the 265s' be put on my stock rear rims, 18x11, they recommend 18x10-10.5?
Really don't want to buy another set of rims, unless forced.

......they recommend 18x10.....

So does Porsche.
Can't say.......and personally I run narrower rubber & fitments all around.

Dismounting, mounting, rebalancing, installing, times 4, repeat two times a year.........it's a bugger, but your call.

TireRack and Wheel Enhancement both told me NO, this would stretch the tire too much, There is no snow tire that I know of that will fit the standard c4s wheel, i had to but 10" wheels for the snows on my C4S

I agree. To stretch the tire on the rim places too much stress on the shoulders and will result in premature wear at best, and possibly failure over time due to heat build up. Also the thing will look goofy from being stretched onto a wheel that's too wide.

Will it fit? Yep, probably. Should it be done? No way.

I bought the wheels from Wheel Enhancement (excellent to deal with), they are 18x10 and are identical in appearance to the stock wheel, I did not use any spacers, just bolted them on.

BTW, are you an MD?

Yeah, I practice in Manhattan. I ended up buying some 18x10, 18x8 on ebay, cheap enough for snow tires.
