no offense to any of the previous posters but the zaino and zymol products listed have little or NO physical cut to them and will do nothing to reduce the visibility of the scratch other than slightly filling...even then both of those products are decent at best at filling.
If you want to try reducing the scratch by hand pick up some Meguiars ScratchX. It's available almost anywhere and is about as agressive of a product that you'll want to use by hand.
What you really need is a professional with a high speed rotary buffer to take a crack at the scratch. Most of the compounds that are agressive enough to correct the scrach should not be used by hand as they just create a massive mess of marred paint without heat and high speed mechanical action.
IF it can be reduced you can then use a glaze to help fill. 3M imperial hand glaze is one of the best filling products on the market. It'll require frequent application but with the combination of reducing the visibility through polish work and then proper fillers you may get a result that saves you from paint work.
As previously mentioned a good caranuba wax as a topper will top it off and also slightly fill in defects.

Sounds like you have a hidden enemy.
We live in a decent Neighborhood. Every car we have own has been vandalized.
2004 Tahoe - mustard put in all the handles. It being a white truck, and the fact we didn't use it for a weekend the mustard stained the paint.
2009 Toyota FJ - Keyed
1995 Toyota Previa - broken into twice, and dented with something the size of a basketball
1987 Cabriolet - Keyed
We are waiting in fear that our 2003 allroad will be next.
People just have no respect.

If the scratch is only in the clear, you can do two things. Wet sand with 2000 or 2500 grit 3m paper to cut down the area around the scratch and then polish to make it less obvious, or you can sand around the scratch with same paper and with small brush fill the scratch with clear coat and let dry. Then wetsand the high spot off and you will likely not see the scratch anymore. You are basically filling the scratch and getting rid of it. I have done this with my black 996 a few times with deep scratches/rock chips...
You then have to use 2-3 stage polishing to restore the gloss to the area. I did a Ferrari for a guy like this a few years ago. The whole side was keyed. I use all 3m products and pads for bets results. And use new polishing pads, not used ones. Any grit will ruin all the work you just did.

wow i am pissed for u. that's exactly why i never like to park my car anywhere other than my house. you cant trust people!!!! jealous people will do stupid things like that. I am really sorry to hear that. I would be devastated if that was my car.
Now this is just my opinion...but...if it's possible to take restorative action and NOT have to go for a repaint of a door and a blend to the adjacent panels, that may be ideal. If you do, your car might fall into the "has had paintwork" category because it'll come to light during a good PPI. Touching up rock chips and little scratches can be expected but having to repaint a part of your car would be expensive and unfortunate.
Sorry to hear. I used to have an S2000 and I had the top sliced and the SEATS STOLEN...it's so violating. Maybe they have security cams on your parking lot at work...
